Privacy at Hawa Score
Last updated: 2 October 2026
The short version
Hawa Score has no accounts and no database of users. Your location, health profile and daily check-ins are saved only in your own browser on your own device. We never see them.
Your location
If you tap "Use my location", your browser asks for your permission first. If you allow it, your approximate coordinates (rounded to about 100 metres) are sent to:
- Open-Meteo, to get the air-quality and weather forecast for that spot.
- BigDataCloud, to turn the coordinates into a place name such as "Pune, Maharashtra".
These requests go directly from your browser to those services. You can say no and search for a city by name instead. You can withdraw permission at any time in your browser's site settings.
Your health profile and check-ins
Your age group, health conditions, outdoor habits and daily breathing check-ins stay in your browser's local storage. They are used only on your device to work out your personal risk score. Clearing your browser's site data deletes them.
Notifications
Notifications are optional and need your browser's permission. They are created on your device while Hawa Score is open.
Not medical advice
Hawa Score gives general guidance based on air-quality forecasts. It is not a medical device and doesn't diagnose or treat any condition. Always follow your doctor's advice.
